Gabey’s last day of Joy school

My little Gabers is moving on. He had his last day of joy school on Thursday. These four little boys are all so precious and I’m so glad Gabe had the chance to become friends with them. This year was so fun for him, and for me. I loved having my turn with the little monsters. I’m not sure how much Gabe learned, but he made some great friendships, and had lots of fun.

He looks so freakin cute. I love to rub his little head. Apparently Gabe had a major freak out when Donny started doing it, but when they were all done he changed his tune. He seems pretty proud of it. I always miss his curls, but i’m sure they’ll grow back. I think Gabe makes Izzy nervous. She looks kinda nervous in that last picture. We wanted to get a few of them together since they’re sporting the same hair style now.

San Antonio and Midland

We took at little trip to San Antonio on our way to Midland a couple weeks ago.We hit up Sea World, the river walk, a river boat cruise, and that pretty much sums it up. I love San Antonio. I would totally live there. There is so much history and so much to do. I should mention that on our little boat ride we saw the Alamo, but didn’t actually take a tour. Maybe next time, with no kiddies. Then… we drove on to Midland. My sister graduated from nursing school last week. I am so unbelievably proud of her!! It was wonderful to be there for her pinning and graduation. There are so many pictures. We had a blast. Donny had to fly home early so he wasn’t able to be there for the festivities. My brother Jacob drove the 9 hour trip home from Midland with me. He was such a trooper. I was really nervous about driving without Donny, but it was great to have Jakey there. Thanks buddy. Couldn’t have done it without you.

Mother’s Day Tea Party

The week of Mother’s Day I had the pleasure of attending a tea party at Sophi’s preschool. When I arrived I went into her classroom and was then escorted, by my sweet little angel, to my seat. The table was set with beautiful little decorations made by the kids. After we were all seated, the kids brought us our gifts. Then, we were served chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, and lemonade, while our wee ones sat on our laps and enjoyed the treats with us. I love my sweet Sophi. She was so excited about the party. I feel so blessed to have such a beautiful daughter, inside and out. This was her last year at Kids of the Kingdom. I can’t believe she will be going to kindergarten in September. She’s my baby. What will I do without her all day? She is such a helper to me. So obedient and so nurturing to her little sister and brother. This year at her little parent teacher conference her teacher told me what a joy she is. They said, “such an angel, so wonderful”. Music to my ears. It was wonderful to hear how well she has done in school also. She’s doing everything she should be doing, socially, physically, and academically. Love her.

Shell Houston Open

As some of you may know, the Shell Houston Open took place a couple weeks back at the Red Stone golf course in Humble, TX. It's about 15 minutes from our house. James and I thought it would be a fabulous idea to go and check out the tournament. It was awesome to see some of the golfers that close up. I know you can't tell by the pic, but the guy in the pic is Phil Mickelson. Well, I'm in the pic too. I am the one in the white shirt on the left. See me??? The guy in the black shirt and white pants, (I want some pants like that) right next to me, is Phil. The same Phil that just won the masters. James took this pic and did great. As I was trying to snap a pic with James and Phil, the cops busted us and took our phones. I guess we missed all the signs that said no phones or cameras on the golf course. Oooops! Oh well, this pic is a part of history now. Phil, well done on your performance at the masters! You are a gentleman and a scholar.

This week little Izz discovered her bottom lip, and how fun it is to suck on. It is super precious. We like to put her in the middle of the dinner table while we're eating. She's our centerpiece ya know. Anyway, she always starts sucking when we're eating. So...i'm thinking she's pretty interested in our food, and that we'll have to start solids soon. Bummer. Nursing is so darn convenient. Anyway, here's some pics.

Here are some cute pics of my girls. Izzy is getting so big. She has really been reaching for things lately. Sophi and Gabe think its so great how she puts everything in her mouth. Today me and Izzy took a nursing snuggle nap after church, it was fabulous. Every Sunday after church, I put an appropriate movie on for Sophi and Gabe, and then me and Frizzle take a nap. I know when the movie is over, because the monsters immediately start needing things. (ie; a drink, a snack, to color, attention) That's when we get up. It works out nicely for all of us I think. Donny is at work, so it's just the four of us. Today we went outside and played. It was such a beautiful day today. I love church by the way. We were on time for Sacrament meeting today for the first time in about 3 no, 4 weeks. It felt so good to be there, ready and on time. It was a good day.

I recently decided that I really need to start writing in my journal again. I used to be so good at it, and since I had the Frizz, life's been...different, but wonderful of course. I love the thought of being able to read about my sweet babies lives, years from today. Even now I love to read old journal entries about how they acted, things they said, how much they weighed at this dr's appt...etc,etc. So I will start with my angel Sophi.

Sophi turned 5 this past November. She weighs 38lbs, and i'm not exactly sure how tall she is. She goes to preschool 3 days a week and loves every second of it. I love that she loves school, because I never did. Her teachers love her and, not to brag, but tell me that she is such a joy. "Everybody loves Sophi." They are always telling me what a good girl she is. Mmmh, music to my ears. Sophi is such a huge help with Izzy and Gabe. She's my little go girl. Always willing to help her Mama. She loves her little sister so much. As she gets older I see how similar and how different we are. She thrives on rules and structure. I would probably thrive on them too, if they were more implemented in my life. That's okay though, cause my lil darlin keeps me in line. Sophi recently started piano lessons, and she is loving it and doing well. She also loves to play with her brother,wrestle with Dad, hold Izzy,sing and make up songs,(she especially loves to devote made up songs to Izzy) play outside, (she would do this all day and all night if I let her. Rain or shine.) dance, talk on the phone to anyone who will talk to her, read books, do "projects", and lots of other things that I just can't think of right now. Sophi is extremely observant of people and situations. It's very interesting to hear her little 5 year old perspective, and she always freely gives it. I cannot believe that my first born will be in kindergarten this next school year. I'm sure that she will love it. I will cry my eyes out.

Ohhh, Gabers. My silly little curly pants. Gabe is 3 and weighs, uh, I think around 34 lbs. Gabriel loves to be with his Mama. I really hope it stays that way too. We do joy school once a week with 3 other little boys that are his age. They are precious and he loves it. It's just perfect for him. I'm so glad we decided to do it this way. He has made some sweet little friendships that wouldn't have come about were it not for his joy school group. He loves to play outside, kick balls, wrestle with his Daddy, try to wrestle with his mom and sister, read books, talk about super heroes, play with super heroes, pretend to be a kitty, ("meemow" is the kitten sound that he's chosen. That's right, he isn't a tiger or a bear, or even a mean doggy, he likes to pretend to be a cute little kitty that says meemow) run around and be a crazy, and hang out with his little buddies. He is a truly hilarious little boy with a tender heart. He takes good care of his sister's and loves to play with Sophi and Izz. Oh, I almost forgot. Gabey likes to make up words. For awhile there he was getting in trouble for saying things like, "poo poo head", "stinky butt", naughty words like that. But he has found a way to get around that, now he says words like, "furner head", "tooky face", "steno head". I can't really get mad at him for saying made up words, can I? He's a funny boy, at least that's what he calls himself. What a gem! We love our Gabergoo.

Isabella our love. That's right, our love. What a wonderful, heavenly, addition, Izzy has been to our family. Izzy was born September 24th, 2009. She is almost 5 months old. She is a perfect little specimen of a baby. Sophi and Gabe were really good babies, so I thought I would for sure have a hellion this time. I was wrong. Izzy is an utter delight. She is a very social baby. Her favorite toys are, in no particular order; Mom, Dad, Sophi, and Gabe. If she is awake, her eyes are wide open. She doesn't sleep all that much. I really think it's because she's afraid she might miss something. She weighs 13 lbs. and 3 oz. and is 24 and 1/8 inch tall. 50th percentile in both. She has rolled over a few times from stomach to back. She loves to look at books and play pat a cake. We love to tickle her because she has such a great little baby laugh. She loathes lying on her stomach. She also doesn't like it when I set her down and then walk away. The Frizz is always ready to play and be held. She loves to nurse and tells me all the time that I really should nurse her much more often. I concur, it is a joy. This third baby has really rocked my world. Donny and I are really enjoying every minute of her baby hood. I definitely see now how quickly time goes by. They are this little for such a short period of time, and I want to try and enjoy every minute of it. I'm sure this is partially due to us being third time parents. Were a little more relaxed now and don't worry as much as we did with the other angels. I am in no hurry for her to get big. There is just something about being around a baby that is soothing to me. Babies are stress relievers. Babies would be good therapy for people in nursing homes or someone recovering from something traumatic. I wish that I could just always have access to one, ya know. And I do, right now, but I won't forever. This is why I have to get all of her yummy baby goodness before it's too late and she grows up.

I love all my babies and feel so blessed to have been chosen to take care of them in this earthly life. They are my treasures from Heaven.

Trunk or Treat

Izzy had her first taste of Halloween last night at the trunk or treat party. We got rained out so the party was moved inside, but it was still fun and the kids got enough candy for all of us. The kids love to dress up in their costumes and can't wait to go all out on Halloween night. Gabe has a mask that goes with his Spiderman muscle suit and we are going to dye Sophi's hair black. They were doing face painting and I had to sneak Izzy over to get her face painted. She loved it! If you can't tell what Izzy is, she is a cute little ghost. Laurel made it for her. Thanks Laurel! I think Gabey had a pretty great birthday. It was low key and just my style. A few presents and very sorry attempt at putting a superman emblem on his birthday cake was enough to make him very happy. We are so grateful for our beautiful little boy. I can't believe that he is 3. He brings humor and joy to all of our lives. Right now he is really into superheroes. I couldn't even pick his favorite, he loves them all. Thanks to his Uncle Jacob, he even knows the names of some of the not so popular superheroes. He still loves cars too. His favorite movie is Superman Returns. It's so weird because even I get bored in that movie, it's so long. The cutest is when he says, Lex Luthor, because he says, "Lex Lupor". Were still working on his f's, he makes a p sound. Our favorite word is fluffy, "pluppy", is what he says. Pretty darn cute. Anyway, happy birthday Gabers! We love ya so much buddy. I know now that the frosting has to be pretty thick to do something like that. Gabe liked it and that's all that matters, okay. What?

Whoops! I forgot to mention that my little Gaber's had a birthday, and... he's potty trained. What a good present, for me. We made it just in time for his 3rd birthday. Donny was the determined one, mainly because he didn't want to buy diapers anymore. I thought it would be such a nightmare, but it turned out great. I think he was just ready for it. We didn't use any fancy potty chairs or anything. Actually, we went to walmart and let him pick out a little toilet seat that goes on the potty. It had cars on it of course. Then, I went to the dollar store and picked out a bunch of little cheap things that I thought he would like. Everytime he went peepee, he was able to pick a treat out of the dollar store bag, and, he got a cookie. I don't believe in bribery by the way. After the first week we got him down to one cookie every time he went peepee and 2 cookies after you know what. It was really a breeze, knock on wood. He continues to do well and it's been 3 weeks so far. We still do the pull up thing at night, but they are always dry when he wakes up. I can count his accidents on one hand and they all happened in the first week. I am so proud of my little 3 year old monster. What a gem.

So far this summer...

I can't believe it's already July 30th. This summer has flown by. We went to Utah for Brianne's wedding, Donny too. The kids and I ended up staying a few extra weeks, we just can't seem to stay less than a month once we get there. On the way back to Houston, my little brother Jacob was with us. Such a nice plane ride, thanks Jakey. Mary and James decided to come for the 4th of July. When we arrived in Houston, they were already there. Surprise!! What trickster's they are. Sarah flew in the the next day. The following few days were spent cramped into our little apartment having the time of our lives. We had a blast. My poor Mommy was so sad. She could hardly stand the thought of us all having fun together without her there. It wasn't the same without you Momma, you either Dad. Unfortunately they had to leave a few days later. They took Jacob with them and headed back to Midland. Sarah stayed with us in Houston. We are so glad that she was able to come and play with us for a few weeks. We miss her badly, especially Sophi and Gabe. "Where's Lala, I miss Lala." She is there play toy and it was so nice to have her here to help. We love ya La. Also this summer, we closed on the purchase of our first home, yeehaw!! We are thrilled to finally have a place of our own. No more sharing walls, no more calling the police at 2:00 am in the morning because it sounds like your upstairs neighbors are bowling, no more common areas filled with dog feces. Just us. We couldn't be happier. My mom and sister are coming to help with the move. I am so spoiled, I know. It is such a blessing to have so much family support. I'm glad that even though I live away from everyone, we still have the means to see each other so frequently. Also, i'm 7 months pregnant, and pretty much worthless. So thanks mommy and sis. Glad you guys love us so much. Here are a few highlight pics of our summer. There are so many so I really had to narrow it down. For all those looking at the pics, I want to remind you that I am pregnant and feelin crappy. I tried to be in as few pictures as possible, but alas I could not escape them all. More adventures to come, and still lots more hot summer left.

It's a girl!!

After much debate and arm twisting we, actually I, decided we were going to find out the sex of the baby. Donny kicked and screamed until we actually got into the doctor's office to have the ultrasound. By that time he knew he was facing defeat so he gave up. The ultrasound was super quick. Too quick actually. She didn't spend hardly anytime with us. We decided that we must have been the last appointment of the day and she was in a hurry to get us out. However she did manage to tell us that it was a girl. We were shocked! We both thought that it was a little guy in there. But we are thrilled! No one could be more excited than our sweet little Sophi. She came with us and she was on cloud nine when we found out it was a girl. She skipped out to the parking lot chanting, "it's a girl, it's a girl". She is so,so excited. It's so sweet. I can't wait to tell this sweet little girl how happy her big sister was for her to come into the world. Now Gabriel on the other hand was not so excited. Nick and Laurel watched him for us, and when we got home and told him, he was less then ecstatic, to say the least. Poor little guy was thinkin it was a boy all along. He said "no, it's a boy baby in there". Major bummer, he's still in denial. Whenever we ask him what kind of baby is in Mommy's tummy he says, "a boy baby". We're not worried a bit though. I know Gabey will be a great big brother. He loves babies. I can't wait to see how he'll interact with her. This picture isn't great, but I guess it shows her little girl parts. We couldn't be happier!!

Here are some pictures that we've taken lately. We really haven't been taking that many, so we need to get crackin, and jump back in the habit. However, better late than never. Mom and Dad, thanks so much for the cars swimming suit for Gabers. I assure you he loves it, even though he looks like a little hood when he wears it. I'm thrilled that I have yet another outfit for him to want to wear every day. There's also some pictures of Sophi all ready for her cowgirl day at preschool and then some of her just being a cute little sunshine, vaseline face. Gotta love the grease. Also, a play day at the pool, first this year. We love the apron that you made her, and she has been much more eager to help Mommy in the kitchen lately. More to come...

Gabey got some new sunglasses. They are special Spiderman sunglasses. He's been so into superheroes lately, thanks Jakey, that most of his attire and accessories have to pertain in some way to one of his favorite superheroes. Such as Superman, his fav, Spiderman, Batman, and of course the token Cars hero, Lightning Mcqueen. I know he isn't a superhero, but Gabe still loves him. The Secret is Out

I guess it was never really a secret. For those of you who don't know yet, we have a bun in the oven. We were going to try to think of something cool to do to let everyone know, but some people already know and people keep calling and asking if it is true. So this is it for some of you. I would like to be able to tell you all in person, and do something to let you know, but it's just not gonna happen. Anyway, we are going to try to go the whole pregnancy without finding out the sex. We are prepared for whatever and it would be fun to be surprised when he/she comes. I guess we will see if we can last. Three is going to be a little crazy and we are starting to get are zone-d preps going. Up until now it has been easy man-to-man coverage. But 3 kids changes everything...so I hear.

Merry Christmas

Well it is getting pretty close to Christmas and we are tying up the loose ends so that we will be ready for Santa. Sophi and Gabe are really excited to open up their presents, in fact, Sophi has asked us about a million times if it was Christmas yet. We are trying to teach the kids about Jesus and the true meaning of it all. I think they understand, well at least Sophi, but right now, Christmas is a tree with presents under it and Jesus' birth and giving, is something else completely different. They will get it some day...Speaking of Jesus and giving, Sophi just had a preschool performance and it was probably the cutest thing that she has done in her life up until now. It is kind of long, but totally worth it.

I am so excited about listening to the BYU-Utah game on the internet this year. I can't wait. I am so glad that the mountain has decided to hold on to the rights to this game. It just blows my mind that the biggest game of the year for the mountain west conference is staying local. That is a great way to get the MWC the recognition it needs. I don't think I have ever watched a boring BYU-Utah game, and I am sure this one will be no different. Especially with so much riding on it. I hope BYU destroys them and their shot at a bcs bowl. But if Utah does win, how awesome for the MWC. Good call mountain! Go Cougs!!!

My little lion and sparkly fairy had a great time getting candy tonight. They were both so dang cute. Sophi was in the same outfit that she wore for the ward party, but Gabe was tricked into wearing a lion costume. I had to put it on while he was watching peter pan. As soon as it was over he realized what happened and only cried/didn't like it for an hour. By the end of the night he was growling and everything. My sweet little baby started preschool this week and she loved it. I posted her first and second days because I thought she just looked so cute. She was so excited to go. When I picked her up from school the first thing she said to me was, "Mommy I had fun". She is doing so great and i'm so glad that she's happy. It was crazy to see her walk into class that first day. I mean, wasn't she just born. Should I still be nursing her, she's my baby.(just kidding) I know this sounds so cliche, but they really do grow up too fast. I could hardly keep from bawling when I drove away from her school. I called my Daddy after I dropped her off to see if he had any words of wisdom for me. This past weekend we went to Austin with some friends. We had a blast and officially love Austin. I wish we could move there. Best of all, we were able to meet Mary and James there. It was so good to see them and I can't wait for the day when we all live by each other again. Here are some pictures of us. Donny was able to go to the first University of Texas game of the season, which he loved of course. It was fun to just go and hang out. Austin reminds me of Portland, OR. Everybody's so nice and laid back. Maybe we can retire there.

Here's a picture of the finished tutu. Sophi has played in this everyday since I made it for her. She loves it and loves for me to take pictures of her princessing around. It only took me a few hours once I figured out what I was doing. (thanks Laurel)It's totally worth it. Mainly i'm just really proud of myself for making it for her. I rarely do stuff like that and during the process I realized that it was really enjoyable. I am going to start doing more inexpensive little projects. I'll have to start slow, because I get overwhelmed easily. It's great to know that I can make something for my children or home, without spending alot of money, and without a butt load of extra time.

Well, when it comes out of your 3 year old's mouth it does. The other day we were just hangin out and Sophi was playing with Gabe. I'm in the other room and all of a sudden I hear her say, "holy crap". Holy crap Sophi what did you just say. I mean, she knew she had said something because when I asked her, "Sophi what did you just say?", She said, "I said nothing Mama". That's pretty suspicious to me. I say that thoughtlessly all the time. I mean, I never really thought she would catch on, but how could she not when it comes flying out of her Mom's mouth all the time. I know it's not that bad, but it just sounds weird coming out of her cute little baby mouth. We talked about how we shouldn't say that because it doesn't sound very nice. I told her that I would try to stop saying it too. So anyway, she's now taken to saying "dang it" instead, which still has a ring to it, but it's not quite as loud if you know what I mean.

So I actually cut Gabe's hair because as cute as it is, it was getting a little mulletesque. So, we trimmed it up a bit. There are only 2 pictures, because while he was stuffing his face was the only time he would sit still long enough for me to get any. Sophi on the other hand, being the ham that she is, was more than happy to pose for as many pictures as I wished. Sophi always has vaseline all over her lips because of her eczema, so please excuse the glossy face. Both of them look so freakin cute I can hardly stand it. That's how I usually feel though.

It took me a few weeks to post some pics, but here they are. Nothing fancy, just a Costco cake and a few good friends. I wish there were more pictures, but we were kind of sidetracked. We sure do love our Gabers and are so happy to have him in our family. One day we'll have a great big birthday party for ya buddy, with blow up jumpy things, and pony rides and everything. My sweet Gabriel brings so much joy to our lives. It's wonderful to see his beautiful little personality developing. He brightens my day and I can hardly wait for him to wake up in the morning. We got home from a long visit in Utah about 2 months ago, and were happy to be home. Sarah, my little sister, came with me and she just left to go back to Utah. She is sorely missed. We've just been trying to catch up with our buddies since she's been gone. Sophi and Gabe missed playing with their friends, and so did I. Everyone that knows Gabe knows that he loves monsters. He talks about "da monstoo" all the time, he talks in a growling monster voice all the time, and his favorite book of all time is "Where the Wild Things Are". It's really funny. Another obsession of his is cars and trucks. It's all about cars. Really his whole vocabulary consists of monster and car words and noises. Whenever he talks on the phone to anyone he has to tell them all about "da cawrs". Recently our friends gave us this big toy truck to borrow for a few days, he's hardly let it out of his sight. The other day we were in the parking lot and all of a sudden we couldn't find Gabe. We called him and started looking around for him. Then a few seconds later we see him trying to climb into this guy's truck. This guy had his passenger door open and Gabe saw it as an opportunity to jump in I guess. Luckily he was nice about it, Gabe was pretty upset when we had to take him away from that big ol truck. How does he know that he's a boy. I never told him.

These are the lovely beaches of Houston Texas. They are not the greatest of beaches, but they are beaches. They even have waves sometimes. I have seen people surf there believe it or not. It takes about an hour to get to Galveston and we usually make a day of it. Here are some pics that we took down there.

It was a hot and sweaty 4th in Houston. We had a great time though. We started out at the parade. We got lots of candy and fun 4th of July things. While Carli was away in Utah, I grew some pretty sweet facial hair. I am pretty sure that it would be permanent except, Carli doesn't like it all that much. She says that it hurts the kids faces when I kiss 'em. I don't know, but I wore it proud when she was gone. I let her see it when she got off the plane and she was pretty mad about it. There is so much catching up to do. I have been out of commission for a while, and I am sorry. Anyway, June has been a good month. We went to Utah for Coby's (my (Donny's) brother) wedding and it was a great time. Utah looks better than ever. I always forget how beautiful mountains make everything.

See what I am talking about. Who knew that swinging on swings could look so good? I don't know, but the wedding was just so much fun and very beautiful. He did it in the back yard of a friend. This guy is a professional landscaper and it was absolutely gorgeous. This yard had everything from a waterfall that emptied into a pond with live fish, to a putting green with different locations for tee off. Coby got married on the green. It was awesome!

Thats my bro. I am so happy for him and Melissa. She is a cool girl and I am sure that they will be happy. I actually met her for the first time, the day before they got married. Being away, I don't get the best opportunities of getting to know my future sister/brothers-in-law. I am sure there will be plenty of time for that though. It was nice to see everyone and be able to hang out with them for a little while. Congrats to my brother and Melissa.

When I saw Sophi dancing and then running to me when she was done. It just makes it all worth it. This parenting thing is actually pretty cool.

I know that Schlitterbahn sounds like something delicious to eat, well, its not. It is a pretty cool water park that we went to this past weekend. It was pretty fun. We took the kids on some pretty big slides. They were scared and excited all at the same time. In fact, when I took Gabe with me, I couldn't tell if he was crying or laughing. It was a lot of fun though. By the end of the day the kids were pooped. Gabe actually fell asleep while I was holding him on the lazy river. We had all kinds of adventures that day. After the park we went out to eat at Fish Tails (barf my brains out). I don't know if they were just having a bad night or what, but it was just not good. The service and food were just bad. To make a long story short, Carli talked to the manager and we got our entire meal comped. It wasn't what we expected, but we felt it was fair. We left our ungrateful waiter a pretty good tip though. Oh, and while we were waiting to be seated, we went to the pier which happened to be right across the street, and saw someone get saved by the life guards on the beach. It was very "baywatchesque". The guy that they were saving was waving an American flag for some reason. We figured he was just messing around and then got himself in trouble, but luckily for him, he was saved.

It is so nice to be a Jazz fan in Houston. I went to the game on Monday and couldn't hold back my smile. I was one of the few in blue. What a great game. People just can't get over the bad call on Scola. What they can't explain is how the jazz lead the whole game except for the first couple of minutes and then once in the third quarter. In total, the jazz lead all but probably two minutes in that game. I am sure that call would have helped them turn it around. Who are they kidding? I am really excited about this season. Go Jazz!!!

For those that don't know Nick and Laurel, I will fill you in. I met Nick and Laurel up in North Dakota when I was going to school. Carli actually knew Nick from high school and so when he moved up we were all introduced and we really hit it off. I actually ended up staying with them for the last 6 weeks of my North Dakota stay. This was while Carli went back to Utah to see her OBGYN (She was pregnant with Gabe). Now Sydney is their daughter, and she is the cute little blond kissing Gabe. Our two and Sydney play so cute together. Today was no different. Gabe and Sydney were kissing and Sophi felt left out and thought she would get in on some of the kissing. To make a long story short, destiny works in crazy ways. It was only by chance that we met each other up in ND, and even a bigger chance that we ended up in Houston together at the same facility. Until we find out different, we think the main reason was so that Sydney and Gabe could meet. We will keep you posted on their progress.

I thought that it was time for a change for awhile. So I took it upon myself (I am Donny, hi) to make it happen. You might notice some changes, but don't be alarmed. This page speaks for the whole family. These aren't just my views. Carli, Sophi, and Gabe love the Jazz. They tell me all the time. They are always trying to get me to watch the games with them. Anyway, we are still liking Texas and enjoying this spring weather while it lasts. Summer is just around the corner and the heat is creepin' if you know what I mean.
I really like my job cause it is so fast paced and every day is a new challenge. I never knew that controlling, and aviation in general, was so complex. There are so many rules and restrictions and blah! I had no idea. But it is cool and intense and fun all at the same time.

I was so nervous about primary today. I don't know why, but last week was so crazy for me. I've had anxiety all week about it. Then last night I could hardly sleep because I just so badly wanted it to go well. For anyone reading this that doesn't know already, I am the primary chorister in my ward. I've been in for about 3 months now, with a long absence over Christmas. For the most part i've really enjoyed this calling. However, to my surprise, when I returned home from Utah, we had not 4, not 5, but 17 new sunbeams. Yeah, so, that's a lot. Anyway, last week was my first week back after UT, and it was just really stressful for me. I think it was a combination of not doing it for a month, having 17 new sunbeams, (including my sweet little baby who I love to look at all during singing time. she's so big!)and planning something that didn't quite go over as well as I had hoped. So, since I had a bad experience last week, I was just sure that I would be doomed to repeat that. However, after sacrament, as all the little kiddies filed in, I immediately noticed a difference. They were quiet. Like, really quiet. It was weird, but I wasn't convinced yet. We sang our opening song, great! Sang our monthly song, even better. Then it was time for senior primary sharing time. It went wonderfully. I think everyone noticed a huge difference between last week and this week. Then it was my turn. Singing time turned out to be a blast. The kids haven't sang so beautifully for a while. I was so happy. Junior primary was pretty much a repeat of that. Except for a little louder, and a lot more kiddies. I am really hoping that I can be a good chorister. I want to teach them to love the songs. Sometimes it's just so hard to get them to try. I know that's normal, but it's hit or miss every week. I know Heavenly Father heard my prayers this week, and the prayers of our wonderful primary presidency. I pray that more Sundays will be like this one.

Bandwagon jumping and such...

I'm going to jump right back on the blogging bandwagon. Not going to feel guilty about not blogging for a month. I'm doing it again starting right... now. Anyway, so after my long absence, I would post a jillion Christmas holiday pictures, I would write about my happy holiday. However, just to say that it was fun and good is enough for me right now. I miss my family in Utah, and I miss clean public bathrooms, also Cafe Rio, mountains, snow, my family, free babysitting, and that's pretty much it. I'm realizing now that blogging is more than keeping in touch for me. It's my journal, and I enjoy and miss it. So, the other night Donny and I were watching, The Wedding Singer. I truly love that movie. It's so funny. I laughed and laughed, up until the very end. Ya know, when he sings to her on the plane. Then I cried. I love that song, and it made me feel more tender toward my sweet Donny, who I had been grouchy with all day. I also might add that when Donny picked me up at the airport, I started to cry. Nice welcome huh. Poor Donny. However, I want my sweet Donny to know how much I love him..... and I "wanna grow old with him", hee hee, but seriously, I do. So, I would like to dedicate my first song ,on my newly revamped playlist to my baby.

So, my family came into town the week before last. Ever since then, I haven't had a chance to sit down for a second and post some stuff. Anyway, everything's fine. My cute friend, Aly, was a little worried about her blogging buddy. I'm okay Aly, just been busy. However, I do realize that I need to do this almost every day. Especially since now i'm using it as kind of a journal, not just a blog for other people to look at. It's for me, and my kids, and their kids. I have been so stressed out lately about doing everything that needs to be done, that I don't know what i've been doing. I told donny last night that sometimes when I look around I wonder what i've done all day. But, somehow, despite what it may seem, I am always busy doing something. Did anyone see the movie "Dan in real life"? It is such a beautiful movie, and ever since I saw it i've been all teary eyed and weepy. I would encourage all of you too see it. It touched my heart and helped me to remember what it's really all about. It's all about now. It's not about collecting "things" in life, it's about being able to lay on the floor for an hour and play with your baby. And it's not always about worrying about things like a church calling, or cleaning your bathrooms more, or losing 5 pounds. Really, sometimes it just has to be about feeling happy and content in your life. Whoa, this is pretty intense. But I guess it's just how i'm feeling. Maybe lately i'm just "feeling" alot more than usual.

1. I was born in Baton Rouge, LA, and lived in Biloxi, MS until I was 12 years old.

Today I had my second official experience sharing the gospel with someone. It's sad to me that I haven't had more opportunities, or that I haven't made it a priority in my life to search for opportunities. However, now that I live in a place that isn't full of people that are already Mormon, or already have an opinion of the Mormons, hopefully I will have the guts to do what I know I need to do. I was playing outside today with my kiddies and there was a girl outside with her dog. We started talking and eventually introduced ourselves. We talked like that for awhile. She was really friendly and we were really having a good time talking with eachother. I don't know why, but I have this habit of making friends with strangers. Ya know, i'm one of those people that like, makes friends in the grocery store, or ends up exchanging numbers with someone that I meet at Costco. I think maybe i'm a little bit starved for adult conversation. Anyway, I just like to talk is what it comes down to. So, after chatting it up with this girl for awhile, I started to wonder if she was religious at all (another thing that I always do) The conversation was kind of winding down, and I still hadn't mentioned anything about religion. I totally wasn't planning on it either. That is until I saw the missionaries walking toward me. I couldn't believe it. I guess I said out loud, "oh there's the missionaries". I wasn't even thinking that she wouldn't know who they are. Then I realized that she probably didn't, and I told her that they were young men from my church that share our religion with people. I was just explaining how I knew them. Anyway, she then went on to ask me what church I belonged to. I told her that "I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a Mormon". She said, "oh, i've never met a Mormon". This kind of threw me off a little, but the missionaries were there now. I introduced them to her. The missionaries explained why they are called "Elders", because she asked. She then said to us, "it's funny that I should meet you because I have been looking for a church to go to since I moved here". Yeah, isn't that awesome. So then I did it, I just asked her. And the funny thing is that, it wasn't even hard. It was easy and natural. I just asked her if she would like to come to church with me? And she said, "Sure, yeah i'll go". So, she gave me her phone number, and I gave her mine. It was great. I couldn't believe it. I mean there's no way I would've been able to ask her about church, if the missionaries hadn't walked up at that very moment. Am I being silly, or is that not great?? Obviously I can't say for sure if anything will come of it. But I sure am going to try. I've really been praying lately for missionary experiences. And there it was, it just fell right into my lap.

Don' t worry Mom, he'll have on by Halloween. Anyway, my cute friend Mandy, who is very pregnant, threw this cute little party for the kiddies. They had so much fun. Sophi loves candy, and although Mandy had other cute little game ideas, Sophi's primary concern was, "where's the candy, how am I going to get that candy, and why can't I have more candy." It was still really fun though. Gabey just toddled around the whole time, occasionally knocking into something, or growling at the little boys who were wearing dinosaur costumes. But really, sometimes I just look at them, and I just love them so dang much I wanna cry. Now, I should probably say that sometimes I look at them and want to cry because Sophi just peed on the floor, & i'm trying to get Gabe to stop putting his sucker in my hair and all over our apartment.(thanks nana and papa) But, it's just those sweet tender moments that I want to remember, and that I want to write about, and even sometimes cry about.

Ok, so Sophi has just started this strange habit of sucking on binky's. Sophi stopped sucking a binky when she was about 6 months old. So, you can imagine why I was puzzled when she asked me for one the other day. However, she actually really seemed to like it.
